VOC Catalyst Cleaning

Keeping your catalytic oxidizer or RCO (Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizer) in compliance with your local or state regulatory air permit often involves doing catalyst testing, to determine the current condition of the catalyst and to quantify its ability to abate the VOC’s it was designed to do. During this testing, and in combination with catalyst characterization, Applied Catalysts can help you determine if a catalyst cleaning can help you restore catalyst activity that has been lost.
One of the common misunderstandings amongst some is that catalysts can deactivate quickly. This is largely not the case. Catalysts typically deactivate slowly via a time/temperature phenomenon, and via the slow accumulation of catalyst masking agents. There are very few true “catalyst poisons”, and in most cases, catalyst can be cleaned and restored to near pristine condition via catalyst cleaning. Applied Catalysts can perform this cleaning service for you.
In some cases, catalyst cleaning is required and/or known to be necessary. Applied Catalysts can help you with your cleaning needs.
