GAC-Ru Overview

Ru on granular activated carbon, GAC-Ru catalysts are use for hydrogenation and other reductive chemistries for fixed bed operations. Standard GAC-Ru catalyst particle sizes are 10x40 mesh and 4x8 mesh. The Ruthenium loading and promoters are chosen based on the application, One general application of the GAC-Ru catalysts is to convert current batch catalyst processes requiring catalyst separations to continuous processes. A second motivator can be the need to run chemistry at higher pressure in multi-tubular reactors where exceptional heat removal and higher pressures can be used. Applied Catalysts can provide catalyst samples for your testing, or can run your chemistry or surrogate chemistry in our lab and show tube reactors.

  • methanation of CO
  • selective reduction of 1-alkenes and nitriles to amides
