Engine Emission Control Solutions
As a supplier of catalyst and process technology, Applied Catalysts can help customers source catalysts and chemicals in many areas.
Engine Exhaust Catalysts
After the proliferation of the Clean Air Act in 1970, the catalytic converter for automobiles was introduced as probably the most important technology in History to clean air pollution worldwide. Removing Carbon monoxide (CO), Hydrocarbons (HC) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), the catalysts contributed substantially to the elimination or reduction of smog in major cities in the USA and Worldwide.
Over the last 40+ years, engine technology, electronics and also catalyst technology has advanced rapidly, and there is no longer such thing as a “one size fits all” technology for all engine emission applications. It is now critical to understand as much as possible about each engine emission application, to both size the catalyst appropriately, and to apply the proper formulation to remove the desired amount of CO, HC and NOx.
Applied Catalysts has the experience and technology to determine the best solution for each individual application. We manufacture oxidation catalysts (two way / CO & HC) and NSCR catalysts (three way/stoichiometric/CO, HC & NOx). We can also manufacture Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC’s) and Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF’s).

Product Types for Emission Control
Activated Carbon Monolith
In chemical process applications, ACMC® catalysts can be used for continuous hydrogenation reactions in many areas where traditional GACC (granular activated carbon catalysts) are currently used.
Monolithic Catalysts
Our monolithic solutions include activated carbon, ceramic, and metallic catalysts that have great applications for engine emissions control and industrial air pollution.
Particulate Systems
Our particulate systems include extrudates, precious metal spheres and saddles for regenerative air pollution control. Enjoy benefits like 95% heat recovery.
RTO/RCO Media
We offer unique designs, such as our ceramic honeycomb, that provides excellent benefits including high resistance to thermal shock and solid thermal mass for effective heat exchange.
